Ad Scroller
Overview
The Ad Scroller plugin provides you a great way to monetise your AppThemes powered website by allowing you to add banner or text ads, whether from Google Adsense or from another source to both sides of your web page container via the Widgets page on the admin back end. These ads will stay visible as the users scroll down the content area by staying in their positions. The plugin is ideal for displaying 120×600 or 160×600 skyscraper ads.

Installation
- Extract zip in the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- Go to Appearance → Widgets page in the back end
- Add “text” widgets to “Ad Scroller Left” and “Ad Scroller Right” sidebars and paste the ad codes in them

- What kind of support is offered with a purchased product?
Your product purchase includes one year of access to premium support via email and one year or free updates. Beyond that, you will need to renew your subscription year on year for around 30% of the product price. Support covers issues such as bug fixes (if any) under normal operation, how to use basic product features, very basic WordPress help, and help with very basic theme customisaton. If you need more advanced modifications please consider hiring a developer to do it for you. - Will you provide help with small modifications?
If you need to do small modifications, you may get help from us as long as they are reasonable in number and nature. If you have a lot of such modifications, please consider paid developer help. - What kind of help would be unreasonable to ask?
This is not an easy question to answer. We are here to ensure that the product you purchased works as intended by us and serves its purpose on your website. That means if it doesn’t work for you, we can step in and help you with it. However, it is when there are no issues with the functioning of the product and all you want is help with modification, that demands start getting unreasonable.
As mentioned before, we don’t mind helping with modifications, but we also expect you to have tried everything to do it yourself. In other words, we expect you to have tried all the settings in your theme, ensured that the issue relates to the product in question, searched through legacy product support forum, and looked around on Google for the answer to your questions before approaching us. Please bear in mind that one theme, one child theme and a few plugins can get you only so far, and you will probably need to make changes to the code of your website to add functionality, change design and personalise it. In case of too many modifications, we will politely ask you to seek paid help. - I am using one of your child themes. I am having an issue with it.
Please make sure the issue is really with the child theme by activating the parent theme and checking if the problem gets solved. Also please make sure you have tested all the settings in parent theme and child theme, sometimes the answer is right in there! Send us an email if the issue still persists. - I am using one of your child themes. I need help with customisation.
As a pre-requisite, you are going to need a basic understanding of HTML & CSS to start customising the layout and style of your theme. To dig deeper PHP knowledge, specifically to WordPress, will help as well. The WordPress Codex is a great place to start learning. For CSS changes related to text colour, background colour, fonts, etc, please consider using the Firebug extension. A simple Google search returns many good text/video tutorials. - Do you offer paid WordPress development services?

i would like to buy this plugin, but want to know first if there is an option to disable scrolling because i want to add multiple banner on the sides but i don’t want them to scroll, is it possible?
Looks like a promising banner plugin for skyscraper ads. One question though, could it be easily modified to accommodate for and entire background ad that is cleverly visible on both sides. For example, if you goto gumtree.com you’ll see that they pretty much have a background image, but there will be times where I would be looking at getting local businesses to take out entire background skyscraper ads. If not, now worries. Cheers 🙂

The base idea of the plugin is scrolling ads of any category (text, pictures) from any source (Adsense, affiliate banners, etc). I presume background ads are mostly picture ads to be designed specifically to match a site’s page dimensions and do not need JS to scroll because it is easy to scroll background images using just CSS. For your needs, I don’t think you need a plugin, whenever you need you can get the ads designed or sent by your supplier, and add it yourself by modifying the theme.

this is great–my only issue is:

would like to know if ad scroller is compatible with e-classify activated simultaneously?
Hi there,
The plugin has not been tested with eClassify by us. I am guessing the vertical offset may need to be adjusted because the header in the child theme does not go fully across the screen until the edges, unlike ClassiPress.

Hi there, the plugin will not work with any other theme on its own, but can be adapted with your theme with a bit of editing.
Does this add-on give statistics for clicks for the companies that purchase ad banners on my site?
Hello there, no it has nothing to do with the content of the widgets you place there, just like the theme won’t give you any statistics if you add external content. It only creates the space for you, that’s it.
Any tool that actually helps you sell ad space on your site would also give you the stats, like Adsense, BuySellAds, or a custom solution through which advertisers directly pay to have their ads display on your site, for example OIOPublisher.
Hi. Does it work with your theme flatpress 1.1.1. I have bought both of them. Because the new version is stretched It seems it will not work. I tested it on my page end the ad scroller is overlapping the main page. Does it work only with the previous version?Please reply.

Can this be used (possibly with Logic Widget) to make the main ClassiPress sidebars (not the space on either side of the page) scroll with the user?

i use other theme this plugin in is work or not
It will work with all themes by AppThemes. For other themes, it can work if customised.
Since install this plugin ALWAYS shows an update available but never actually updates or removes the notice to update after update.
Also, does not seem to be working at all on latest versions after re-install on fresh install recently.

Can it have different content in different pages?
Yes, but you will need to use a plugin like JetPack or any other conditional widget plugin, to display your widgets on only certain pages and hide them from the rest.

Hi.. I have installed the plugin.. I have copied google ad code into widget content area.. but ads are not showing.. we are getting this error: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ().. are we missing anything?
ok we have found the problem and fixed it…. is it possible to hide ads on certain pages? we dont want to show ads on few pages like login and registration pages

Glad you were able to sort it. To selectively display widgets, you can use a plugin from the WordPress.org repository that says “Widget Logic”.

I bought and installed the plugin AD Scrool in my site, ihave the Clipper Theme, but the scroll is not visible in the AD Scroller Left and AD Scroller Right, this plugin does not work with clipper theme?

That depends on the child theme you are using. Clipper itself doesn’t have the space next to the logo.
