Overview
CouponJoy gives your coupon website a real edge by opening the destination URL (affiliate/external) in the same browser tab and your coupon site in the new tab with coupon popup open like RetailMeNot.com, VoucherCodes.co.uk and other major retail sites. CouponJoy is compatible with Clipper 2.0+ and all its available child themes in the marketplace!
Note: This plugin only affects the online coupon codes, and not the printable ones or promotions

Installation
- Extract zip in the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- That’s it! There are no settings for this plugin and it works out of the box

- What kind of support is offered with a purchased product?
Your product purchase includes one year of access to premium support via email and one year or free updates. Beyond that, you will need to renew your subscription year on year for around 30% of the product price. Support covers issues such as bug fixes (if any) under normal operation, how to use basic product features, very basic WordPress help, and help with very basic theme customisaton. If you need more advanced modifications please consider hiring a developer to do it for you. - Will you provide help with small modifications?
If you need to do small modifications, you may get help from us as long as they are reasonable in number and nature. If you have a lot of such modifications, please consider paid developer help. - What kind of help would be unreasonable to ask?
This is not an easy question to answer. We are here to ensure that the product you purchased works as intended by us and serves its purpose on your website. That means if it doesn’t work for you, we can step in and help you with it. However, it is when there are no issues with the functioning of the product and all you want is help with modification, that demands start getting unreasonable.
As mentioned before, we don’t mind helping with modifications, but we also expect you to have tried everything to do it yourself. In other words, we expect you to have tried all the settings in your theme, ensured that the issue relates to the product in question, searched through legacy product support forum, and looked around on Google for the answer to your questions before approaching us. Please bear in mind that one theme, one child theme and a few plugins can get you only so far, and you will probably need to make changes to the code of your website to add functionality, change design and personalise it. In case of too many modifications, we will politely ask you to seek paid help. - I am using one of your child themes. I am having an issue with it.
Please make sure the issue is really with the child theme by activating the parent theme and checking if the problem gets solved. Also please make sure you have tested all the settings in parent theme and child theme, sometimes the answer is right in there! Send us an email if the issue still persists. - I am using one of your child themes. I need help with customisation.
As a pre-requisite, you are going to need a basic understanding of HTML & CSS to start customising the layout and style of your theme. To dig deeper PHP knowledge, specifically to WordPress, will help as well. The WordPress Codex is a great place to start learning. For CSS changes related to text colour, background colour, fonts, etc, please consider using the Firebug extension. A simple Google search returns many good text/video tutorials. - Do you offer paid WordPress development services?

Coupon joy plugin not working for me.
Moshin – I upgraded to Clipper 1.6.4 as a test and installed the updated 1.0.3 of the plugin to find these issues:
1. There is no longer a lightbox, it simply opens the affiliate link in the original window and opens a new link with the coupon code “revealed” in a new window. No lightbox affect pops out as with prior version of clipper and your plugin.
2. It no longer copies the coupon code into the browser so that the visitor can simply hit their “paste” function. They now have to manually look at, copy down or write the code.
Please advise on the fixes and how it should function. Did you update or change functionality for Clipper 1.6.4 on both these two criteria?
I realize you haven’t yet gotten back to my prior question above, but I had a quick question – does this work well with the COUP child theme here? And will it use the pop up lightbox functionality with COUP?
The latest version of CouponJoy should work fine with the latest version of Clipper. If it doesn’t then simply send your support request via email to the address mentioned under the support tab.

After upgrading to Clipper 1.6.4 and couponjoy 1.0.3, the plugin :
1. No lightbox, simply open the link in a new window.
2. And it doesn’t copy the coupon code into the browser. The user and have to manually copy down or write the code.

It should work with the latest version of Clipper without any issues.

I also see the industry standard, including the RTM functionality which it was modeled off of does in fact currently still copy the code.
2. To confirm, this if fully compatible with Clipper 2.x?

Thanks, yes it’s not working in Clipper 1.6.4 or newer. It should be working in 1.6.4 and 2.x both as I understand (it used to).

In Chrome, the popoup and redirection made by couponjoy are blocked.
Visitors can’t see any code, when they click.
Have you a solution for that.

It is happening because of chrome new update (Chrome 76) https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7679408?hl=en#76
The Pop-ups and redirects are blocked by default in new chrome. If it is enabled manually, then the plugin works only for that PC. But that should not be the solution. I am also using the plugin. I am also looking forward the right solution from Mohsin.

Hi Mohsin, I’m using three of your plugins so far and Coupon Joy is one that is critical for us! Now as others have mentioned above, since the first of August Google Chrome has updated the default “Advanced” settings, specifically sub settings under // Privacy & Security // Site Settings // Pop-ups & Redirects // that defaults this to “Blocked” instead of previously, “Allowed”.
In doing so your coupon lightbox no longer functions, it is blocked as a pop-up and simply redirects to the partner site without the user being able to see or copy, thus use the coupon code in question. This equates to lost sales on most Chrome browser clicks.
In other browsers, including Safari and Firefox Coupon Joy still works as it should but with 60% of web traffic coming from Chrome this is a huge potential revenue loss for the affiliate community! Can you please address this in a patch? I am using the 1.6.x Clipper platform which this was designed for originally by the way but this issue affects the 2.x as well.

But in chrome, it just open the link in an other tab, it doesn’t display the popup.

Unforunately after clearing the cache in Chrome 76 it is doing the same exact thing as before, it blocks the lightbox (as a popup) and then shows the coupon for a second (but does not copy it or leave it to display it long enough to see) then redirects within the same tab to the affiliate site. So it does not work, and I just paid another $9 for the plugin!

Yes, the new version has the exact same behavior and bug as the prior one. So unfortunately it did not fix it. Oddly enough other sites, like Retail Me Not have their lightbox working fine without being blocked by Chrome.

If you have already bought couponjoy, you can upgrade for 3$. No need to buy the plugin again.
The same is valid for all the products of the marketplace.
Hi Mohsin and all. First, thanks for your work in fixing this! Second, what I discovered is that the original plugin was cached in Chrome so the new plugin, even though installed correctly was not running from the new version. So I went into incognito mode and it worked, which clued me into the solution – simply clear your cookies for your site or all if you don’t care and it works in regular browsing mode!
Sorry for the confusion, caching issues are crazy sometimes!
