Does this include a js script to set as an automated slider like featured slider found in the Classipress Theme? Ot is it just static and sits there until the site visitor engages with its controls?
Hi Robert, yes the slider can be set to automatically rotate images (you can see this working on the demo site). You can set both an initial delay and a delay between slides as well as choosing either slide or fade transition effects. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Matt.
Alright, I bought it. I will replace my other slider for this one and test it. I bought it because of the js fade setting and the additional user controls I was able to use in the demo.
I bought the image slider, but I think there is a mistake in the stylesheet. In the lightbox, the ratios are not in order, plates are pushed together. What can I do?
Hi, I’d be happy to take a look for you. Could you send me a PM with a link to an example that is not working.
Thanks,
Matt.
OK, I hope this works http://tuinarchief.nl/ads/hoveniersbedrijf-in-amersfoort/
Click on the image and then click through it. First time it’s oké, after one round it’s not anymore.
Hi, I will take a look for you.
OK, I think this is likely because you are using a child theme not the standard ClassiPress theme which the plugin is designed to work with.
I will contact the theme developer and see if I can grab a copy to test against for you.
Thanks for asking for me, nice to know you work together. I had a message already and I believe it is solved by now.
Hello how can I activate slider in child theme ??
Can I change size to the main picture???
When the user clicks on the thumbnail to view the image in detail then the image is resized to fill their screen. If the image is smaller than the screen it will be shown at 100%. Does that make sense?
i´am asking if it possible to change image size as thumbnail in ad-listing page, not when it resized in popup…??
Is it possible to set the plugin to show the full size image (after clicking on the thumbnail) instead of resizing it to user’s screen size?
Not currently – as you’ve seen the image is resized to fit the users screen. If it’s something that would be useful to you though I can take a look at adding the option?
It could be useful. Some of my Clients use images as a menu in a restaurant (I use CP for New Year’s Eve party Ad). Their image, when it is wider and taller than the screen is automatically fitted to user’s screen. Then the image is not readable.
There is not an option in the plugin though – it scales the thumbnail to fit the 236x236px square. This is done so that it does not interfere with ClassiPress’ responsive layout.
You could change the size by changing the CSS file in the plugin but would need to check how it looked on different screen sizes.
I bought the image slider, it does not work in my site, why?
Hi filipe,
Sorry to hear you are having problems. Please let me have the URL of your site and I’d be happy to take a look for you.
Matt.
can u pls send short code of this silder
Hi Lazarus,
The plugin doesn’t use a shortcode – it automatically swaps out the standard static listing image for an image slider.
I don’t see you on my customer list, have you purchased the slider under a different username?
Matt.
yes sir shlomi hayebi
i need shortcode for client
Hi, As I said above. The plugin doesn’t use a shortcode. It automatically swaps out the standard static listing image for an image slider. If you want to head over to the support forum and start a thread with details of what you’d like the shortcode to do exactly I’ll happily take a look at how feasible it would be.
Cheers,
Matt.
i want to show slider in loop-ad_listing.php so pls send code
I’m sure your client will have provided you with a copy of the plugin. You are free to modify the source code to do as you wish.
If your client would like to make feature requests on the support forum he may do so and I will happily consider them for future versions of the plugin.
This page is for potential customers to ask questions prior to purchase so could I request any further comments are made on the product support forum.
Thanks, Matt.
sir i cant modify plugin can you pls help me and pls tell me rest of the changes
I am looking to Replace the default ClassiPress ad listing gallery with another slider.
With this slider can you put thumbnail pics underneath the main pic instead of the dark round dots, which can then be clicked on to show up where the main pic is?
Theoretically absolutely – there would be no problem modifying the code in a child theme where you could control the layout of the single listing page. Currently the plugin doesn’t support this though for a couple of reasons. The slider intentionally has the same size as the standard ClassiPress listing image display. Adding thumbnails instead of the indicators would affect the size and layout too much. This would interfere with both the responsive design of the ClassiPress theme when viewed on smaller screens/devices and make it incompatible with most child themes for ClassiPress.
Matt
Hello, Does the slider only work when the user is viewing the individual listings? Or will the images slide in the page with multiple listings? (this is the page that the user lands on when visiting the home page with multiple company listings – this is what I am curious about)
If this is not a default setting, can this be set in the admin panel?
Currently only the image on the single ad page is replaced with a slider.
I’d be hesitant to replace all images on archive/search pages, certainly with sliders that start automatically, as it might be a bit much. It can certainly be done though. I’ll have a look/think at how it might work.
Matt
It would be interesting to have it as a sub-feature or another option to a featured listing. Webmasters may want to avoid making their webpage look like something from the Vegas Strip, but one or two on a page (or perhaps having photos alternate between just 2 photos instead of all 5) would be a compromise.
ALSO, mhupfield, since you are an author; I had made a suggestion in the Vantage Forum and added the idea to the Developer Idea Suggestion, but would it be possible to limit the visibility of the “Listed In” categories to the first 3 or 4 categories on Vantage? While it may be relevant to have a listing a member of more than lets say 7 different categories, it begins to look like a “Link Farm” and spam when a listing is assigned to more than a few categories. A solution (other than removing categories) would be to have a clickable “read more…” button after lets say the 4th listing. Can that be done?
That’s exactly my concern: 100+ sliding images on a page! Interesting, and feasible, idea though for it to work only with featured listings.
Agree with your point on limiting listing categories. Limiting them to a certain number isn’t a problem. The only issue I can imagine is how you choose which to display – pick first ones alphabetically, randomly etc. Not sure there’s be enough demand for it to warrant a plugin to handle (would likely have to be handled by child theme anyway). When I get a moment I’ll take a look and see if there’s any easy copy/paste block of code I can provide to do so.
I would pay up to $50 for a plugin for this feature.
It would be important though that if I was to buy a plugin, it would show a definable (between 1-10) and then allow website visitors to view the additional “Listed In” hyperlinks via a “Read More…” or similar link that drop-downs additional visible categories or brings the website visitor to another page with the links. Personally I would prefer the first option.
Also, the slice of code didn’t work but it did remove the categories completely. Which was sort of OK also and at least makes the page look less like a link farm.
Yeah, my concern is that hidden categories wouldn’t be seen by search engines. Having a “…plus 77 more” or “read more….” sort of a dropdown would be ideal. So they would be there but they wouldn’t be there for the whole world to see unless they wanted to. I sent you a few comments via email. Support is great. I will buy this plugin. Thanks!
i m not happy
Hi,
in behalf of the last review – plugin working for cp 3.3.3 or not? –
kr
Enrique
worked fantastic for 24 hours, now the images simply don’t show. I disabled the two plugins I activated after this one but it didn’t solve the issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled, still the same problem. I have returned to the classipress default images and hoping that I can find a solution eventually from somebody. Read every possible forum (many haven’t had a post for over a year) and still google searching. I know this is a minor fix because it was working fine.
Hi, please reactivate the plugin and send an e-mail to: support@nomadcode.net with the URL of your site and I will take a look for you.
Matt.
Hi,
is it possible to set a permanent tag in the gallery with logo in bottom while displaying?
I need every single picture to have the same mark with logo displayed.
Cheers,
Artur
Does anyone know if this works with the AdSplash child theme?
The plugin ” mage Slider is ClassiPress ” work in version 3.5.1 ?
Can you edit your plugin to big size and reponsive ????
Installed it and remove it!.
Reason : I am using a child theme which uses larger single page image size . Which in my opinion creates better impression to viewers as the image appear large enough to see the details at a glance.
The slider keeps the original classipress single ad page image format. Therefore i don’t find it practical.
It will be awesome if the developer can make this changes or at least make it optional in the image slider setting which will allow us to choose image size .
I think make it a big slider. because user like big images when look your ads
