CouponJoy
Overview
CouponJoy gives your coupon website a real edge by opening the destination URL (affiliate/external) in the same browser tab and your coupon site in the new tab with coupon popup open like RetailMeNot.com, VoucherCodes.co.uk and other major retail sites. CouponJoy is compatible with Clipper 2.0+ and all its available child themes in the marketplace!
Note: This plugin only affects the online coupon codes, and not the printable ones or promotions

Installation
- Extract zip in the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- That’s it! There are no settings for this plugin and it works out of the box

- What kind of support is offered with a purchased product?
Your product purchase includes one year of access to premium support via email and one year or free updates. Beyond that, you will need to renew your subscription year on year for around 30% of the product price. Support covers issues such as bug fixes (if any) under normal operation, how to use basic product features, very basic WordPress help, and help with very basic theme customisaton. If you need more advanced modifications please consider hiring a developer to do it for you. - Will you provide help with small modifications?
If you need to do small modifications, you may get help from us as long as they are reasonable in number and nature. If you have a lot of such modifications, please consider paid developer help. - What kind of help would be unreasonable to ask?
This is not an easy question to answer. We are here to ensure that the product you purchased works as intended by us and serves its purpose on your website. That means if it doesn’t work for you, we can step in and help you with it. However, it is when there are no issues with the functioning of the product and all you want is help with modification, that demands start getting unreasonable.
As mentioned before, we don’t mind helping with modifications, but we also expect you to have tried everything to do it yourself. In other words, we expect you to have tried all the settings in your theme, ensured that the issue relates to the product in question, searched through legacy product support forum, and looked around on Google for the answer to your questions before approaching us. Please bear in mind that one theme, one child theme and a few plugins can get you only so far, and you will probably need to make changes to the code of your website to add functionality, change design and personalise it. In case of too many modifications, we will politely ask you to seek paid help. - I am using one of your child themes. I am having an issue with it.
Please make sure the issue is really with the child theme by activating the parent theme and checking if the problem gets solved. Also please make sure you have tested all the settings in parent theme and child theme, sometimes the answer is right in there! Send us an email if the issue still persists. - I am using one of your child themes. I need help with customisation.
As a pre-requisite, you are going to need a basic understanding of HTML & CSS to start customising the layout and style of your theme. To dig deeper PHP knowledge, specifically to WordPress, will help as well. The WordPress Codex is a great place to start learning. For CSS changes related to text colour, background colour, fonts, etc, please consider using the Firebug extension. A simple Google search returns many good text/video tutorials. - Do you offer paid WordPress development services?

We have to uncheck “Open outbound coupon links in a new browser tab” in clipper setting.

What verison of clipper you are using?
try to update the plugin then clear your browser cache before you try it again.
I see you are using a customized version of clipper,did it work before and then stopped?
I cleared cache, the plugin is working except for the automatically copying functionality which has been widely noted as a bug for some time…
It’s all noted, we test it again and release it with a newer set of functions.

I’m confused the last update had to do with a fix for the pop-up issue. The automatic copy function still does not, and has not worked for a some time. Are you updating it soon then with this fixed and other functions?
The last update had an issue with chrome blocking the popups , we fixed that.
The copy coupon function which must be a clipper one that you claim to be broken.
We will add another lightbox window elements (copy coupon code, votes, Store link and more…)

In addition to the disappearance of the ‘copy’ function, the behavior has also changed. Now, the external site no longer opens in the background. So when a user clicks on the button he sees the opened link instead of first the popup. This is a bad user experience, because the user has to switch his tab before he can see the discount code. Can you fix this too?

Excuse me, the problem with the behavior was fixed when I updated the themes.
I am glad you got it sorted 🙂
However, the updated plugin still does NOT automatically copy the coupon code upon opening the lightbox. The user does still have to manually click on copy coupon first which is not the way it was originally designed and supposed to work. If you look at the models for this plugin, they all copy the code automatically as a convenience to the user and to make a sale easier!
Mohsin, where are we on fixing this bug and adding some new features as you were working on back a few weeks ago?

the copy code function is a function at clipper, but we try to implement something better , like retailmenot with the lightbox
As I said on the previous comment, we spent almost 10 days on the new flatter upgrade, it was an urgent update, so I am sorry for the delay to switch back to couponjoy, ( we do it today and we expect to release it this week )

Hello there,
I am using your CouponJoy Plugin 1.0.0 and just realized that it was not working on Google Crome, so I updated to 1.0.4 just to realize that it is now not working at all.
It is now no longer opening the Shop Side in the old and my side in the new Tab. Instead its opening the Shop side in an new Tab.
I am using Clipper 1.5.1 and I am right now unable to switch to another version.
How can I fix the problem?

Strange, I am using Clipper 1.5.1 and updated to CouponJoy 1.0.4 and it is working fine in all browsers. Chrome was the reason for the update to 1.0.4 by the way. Perhaps you need to clear your cache, I know that when first updated it didn’t work until I cleared, fully my browser cache and if needed your site cache…

For whom using clipper 1.0.5, can you use clipper 2.X
I am going to test it again, perhaps it’s because of wp 5.5 update which broken millions of sites !
like I said I can not switch from Clipper 1.5.1. I had to modify my child theme then. Please fix 1.0.4 it is not working with Clipper 1.5.1. CouponJoy 1.0.0 is working except with Chrome. Please tell me the changes needed and I can adjust it.

can you please test also in clipper-1.6.4. We are facing similar issue. Unfortunately, we can’t switch to clipper 2.X. We have some major limitations.
I also still us WordPress 5.4.2.
I mis-spoke we are using Clipper 1.6.4 and CouponJoy 1.0.4 and it is in fact working without any issues at all. You might want to re-install it, it looks like you have some of the Clipper settings that work with CouponJoy incorrect…
Under Coupon Tab Settings for Clipper:
– Coupon Code – Don’t Show Coupon Code Until After They Click It
– Cloak Links – Hide Coupon and Store Outgoing Links
– Cloak Links – Hide Coupon and Store Outgoing Links
<Do NOT Check This – Open Outbound Links In a New Browser
P.S. And Currently WordPress 4.9.15.
Mohsin – To clarify, do you mean Clipper 2.0.5 (not 1.0.5) which is the latest update that fixes the Wodpress 5.5 issues…?
