{CP} Simply Responsive
A simply responsive child theme compatible up to version 3.6+, which enhances ClassiPress with many new features and adjustments (3.4.x & 3.3.x versions still available, just give me a shout).
CP Simply Responsive has been designed to fit well on MOBILE devices with a strong emphasis on UI – in other words, User Interaction. Everything we do with this theme is designed with the user (ie: your customers) in mind. No unnecessary gimmicks, css transitions or flashing animations, purely simple and functional.

- Added Featured slider to display featured ads which are relevant to the category being viewed on the category pages. Please note, you must have at least 2 featured ads in each category for this to function correctly otherwise non-featured ads will duplicate themselves. This is a quirk of ClassiPress.
Please feel free to adjust backgrounds, text links, buttons and colors to suit your own branding. If you know a little css, this can easily be achieved. See one example HERE
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that this is a ClassiPress child theme. You will also need to purchase the ClassiPress main parent theme for it to function fully.
Where has my main menu and footer menu gone?
Sometimes this can disappear upon installation of a child theme. If this happens, simply go to your admin area: Appearance -> Menus and redefine your header and footer menu locations. Set you primary navigation to Header and your footer navigation to Footer.
In WP3.5- set this in your Theme Locations (top left panel).
In WP3.6+ you will find the settings have moved to the Manage Locations tab.
How can I share my own logo to facebook?

How do I translate this child theme?
There is a simply-responsive.pot file inside the languages folder. Simply use PoEdit program to to add translation into your own language. For more information and guidance on how to use PoEdit, see here and here.
1. Download the zip file from your AppThemes account. Unzip the zip file. Inside the unzipped folder, you should see a README.txt file and another zip file. This is the zip file you need to upload to your server. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes – Install Themes tab and upload the zip file. Then simply activate.
2. Check the ‘Use SelectBox JS library’ checkbox
Appearance -> Customize -> Site
3. Ensure your permalinks are set correctly. WordPress -> Settings -> Set Permalinks to “Post name” and save the settings.
If your menus disappear, see the FAQs section.
If your images look squashed, see the Support section.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Why do my images look distorted?
Since this theme uses larger images in a square consistent format, you will need to install and activate the “Force Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin to resize all your images to the new larger sizes.

You should only need to do this once!
(Images uploaded to ads should be no less than 250px width and height)
Recommended logo sizes: Desktops / Tablets – minimum width = 226px / Mobiles – minimum width= 198px.
If you upload your logo to your images folder and your image has a different dimension, you will need to adjust the ‘cp_logo’ sizes in the style.css file accordingly.
If you upload your logo using the Classipress -> Settings -> General tab, then you will need to adjust the ‘.header_main_res #logo img’ in the style.css file accordingly.
Please feel free to adjust backgrounds and colors to suit your own branding, but please note, support is only provided for setup/installation and any bug fixing. We do not provide free support if you choose to further customize this theme. We will, of course, help you with any minor tweaks/adjustments.
How can I share my own logo to facebook?
To link to your own facebook page using the AddThis share plugin, you will need to have your own facebook account set up and your own app ID number. Simply replace the ID number in the head of the wrapper.php file with your own ID number and replace the fallback image URL with your own (see FAQs):
Make sure your logo is at least 200px x 200px or facebook will not recognise it.

Don’t expect bells, whistles and fireworks when you purchase this theme – what you DO get is a wonderfully integrated piece of kit, with features that you didn’t even realise you’d be investing in, such as same page login/register, slider ads re-racking depending on which page you’re on, plus much more that you’d normally need to purchase a separate plugin for.
Sure it’s a little pricier than most others, and even then, you’ll need to purchase separately the ‘Favourites’ plugin (a deal clincher in my opinion!), but as in most things in life, you get what you pay for!
Also, the support from Ms Talent is astounding, and in a lot of cases will be worth the price of the theme alone.

1. It does not at the moment, but I am working on another theme that will have a grid view. It was put on the back burner for a bit due to a heavy workload, but will get back onto it again soon. I do not know of the grid plugin you are referring to, sorry.
2. The advanced search filtering system is part of Classipress. You just need to set it up. See some tutorials here:

Most of these questions appear to questions related to the main classipress theme. However, I shall try to answer them regardless.
1) Emails handled by the main theme, some can be edited in your admin area and others can be edited in a file called email.php
2) It is, with a little customization and creating your own custom fields. Again, custom fields can be created in the Classipress settings via your admin.
3) I’ve not thought about how “users” would add posts before. They are only able to post ads, unless you grant them all admin access. The only reason why the extra “posts” tab appears on the author page of my demo is because I, as admin, have created a few posts for the purposes of the demo. Ordinarily your users would only have the “ads” tab display. Hope that makes sense. As admin you can add posts via your admin area.
4) Most email clients are supported. Clicking on the “email to a friend” link will open your own email client on your computer.
5) It isn’t? Maybe you can ask this in the main Classipress forum. I can’t answer that one, sorry.
6) Are you referring to my demo or your own website? Have you created states of India? I have not created any Indian states in the demo. So if you are referring to my demo, then that would be why.

All plugins work entirely independently of the child theme. They all work with the main Classipress theme.
The embed video that you are particularly interested in is not a plugin, sorry. That is actually hard coded directly into and very much a part of the child theme.

I will wait for the vantage child theme to be released till then I won’t buy any other. A couple of requests.If you can release a directory theme for restaurants or hotels. I have googled a lot about restaurant & food directory themes but cold not find a perfect one.Every theme is offering something new but all these features are not present in one theme. Also one feature I could not found in most of the diretory themes is a button for offers and discounts from the advertisers. This is a much needed feature as businesses keep on offering goodies from time to time and it is good if it is displayed in the listing page as a tab or pop up buttom with date and time or valid til…..!
These are just my expectation from the upcoming out of the box vantage child theme from Talent ( As the name suggests)

Haha Kumi you don’t ask for much! If I were to do all that it would take me months to build and I would have to charge you for months of work.
It would not be worth to putting on the marketplace either given that appthemes shave the first 40% off. I would have to make it a mighty expensive child theme to be feasible.

I have just installed Simply Responsive on a new fresh website and after I set up the categories I realised that the homepage category menu is not like that one showed on market place with + expand the menu to view sub categories and “View all” link.
There is any particular settings to be able to have this feature ?

After you asked this I loaded the plugin to see if it is compatible, since I had never tested it before. It does appears to be fine. BUT whilst playing with the settings I noticed some strange calculation behaviour. Not just in its use with mt child them, but in its use with the main Classipress parent theme. See my query about it here (not yet responded to). I guess what I am saying is it is just as compatible as Classipress is 🙂

I know this one is, as many of my customers use this plugin. There was an issue with this plugin for most of the child themes in that it creates double meta in ads, but the author has now fixed this.

I have no idea and therefore cannot guarantee it, sorry. I do not have this plugin to be able to test it either. I presume if it works with Classipress, then I cannot see why it wouldn’t work with this child theme, as this child theme does not alter the way Classipress works with ad posters.

Again I do not have this plugin, but I do have one very similar that works absolutely fine. Again this child theme does not alter the way the search function works.
Re: Min/Max plugin
If your country does not use zip codes, then you can just exclude this field in your form layouts and search results. Then you can include search by state instead. As above, this plugin does not alter the way the actual search function works. So if you do need to make changes to the search function, this would require some code customisation just as you would with the built in classipress search results.

I haven’t seen any notice, but I have received emails lately telling me WordPress has automatically updated to 3.8.2. So if my demo is still in tact, then manually updating should not be a problem.

I have installed all in one seo plugin but Im not really satisfied with it. You said yoast doesn’t work well with your theme. What exactly does it cause as I was thinking to replace all in one with Yoast. What is your final recommendation in long run.

Probably best to direct questions related to child theme in the child theme forum, rather than here in the comments. I can serve you better there.
In answer to your question… I am aware that Classipress in general has issues with some SEO plugins and in the main Classipress forum there are e few complaints/niggles about the Yoast plugin, which is why I “warn” people from using such pluigns.
If the plugin you are after is working fine with Classipress, then it should also work with this child theme. I cannot personally recommend one SEO plugin above another as I have not tested them all. All I can say is the one that you should use is the one that works for you.

Hi, i’ve bought your simply responsive theme from appthemes marketplaces.
I’ve installed the theme on classipress, but when click on login or register, the page won’t load entire, and is showed only the text “Already register?”, after this string the rest is blank.
I’ve followed your guidelines (cache empty, disabled all plugin, ecc..), but the registration and login work only when i disable your theme.
Can you help me?

I just tried to replicate your problem, but was unable to. I updated my WP to 3.9.1 and installed a fresh version of CP 3.3, then I downloaded the child theme from appthemes as you would have done, installed, activated and it worked right out of the box for me. The Register and login page is fine, the entire page loads as normal.
So now how do we find out why you are having this issue…
I got your message repeated via the contact form. I answered that too. I am going to need admin access to find out why you are having this issue.
