{CP} Simply Responsive
A simply responsive child theme compatible up to version 3.6+, which enhances ClassiPress with many new features and adjustments (3.4.x & 3.3.x versions still available, just give me a shout).
CP Simply Responsive has been designed to fit well on MOBILE devices with a strong emphasis on UI – in other words, User Interaction. Everything we do with this theme is designed with the user (ie: your customers) in mind. No unnecessary gimmicks, css transitions or flashing animations, purely simple and functional.

- Added Featured slider to display featured ads which are relevant to the category being viewed on the category pages. Please note, you must have at least 2 featured ads in each category for this to function correctly otherwise non-featured ads will duplicate themselves. This is a quirk of ClassiPress.
Please feel free to adjust backgrounds, text links, buttons and colors to suit your own branding. If you know a little css, this can easily be achieved. See one example HERE
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that this is a ClassiPress child theme. You will also need to purchase the ClassiPress main parent theme for it to function fully.
Where has my main menu and footer menu gone?
Sometimes this can disappear upon installation of a child theme. If this happens, simply go to your admin area: Appearance -> Menus and redefine your header and footer menu locations. Set you primary navigation to Header and your footer navigation to Footer.
In WP3.5- set this in your Theme Locations (top left panel).
In WP3.6+ you will find the settings have moved to the Manage Locations tab.

How do I translate this child theme?
There is a simply-responsive.pot file inside the languages folder. Simply use PoEdit program to to add translation into your own language. For more information and guidance on how to use PoEdit, see here and here.
1. Download the zip file from your AppThemes account. Unzip the zip file. Inside the unzipped folder, you should see a README.txt file and another zip file. This is the zip file you need to upload to your server. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes – Install Themes tab and upload the zip file. Then simply activate.
2. Check the ‘Use SelectBox JS library’ checkbox
Appearance -> Customize -> Site
3. Ensure your permalinks are set correctly. WordPress -> Settings -> Set Permalinks to “Post name” and save the settings.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Why do my images look distorted?
Since this theme uses larger images in a square consistent format, you will need to install and activate the “Force Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin to resize all your images to the new larger sizes.

You should only need to do this once!
(Images uploaded to ads should be no less than 250px width and height)
Recommended logo sizes: Desktops / Tablets – minimum width = 226px / Mobiles – minimum width= 198px.
If you upload your logo to your images folder and your image has a different dimension, you will need to adjust the ‘cp_logo’ sizes in the style.css file accordingly.
If you upload your logo using the Classipress -> Settings -> General tab, then you will need to adjust the ‘.header_main_res #logo img’ in the style.css file accordingly.
Please feel free to adjust backgrounds and colors to suit your own branding, but please note, support is only provided for setup/installation and any bug fixing. We do not provide free support if you choose to further customize this theme. We will, of course, help you with any minor tweaks/adjustments.
How can I share my own logo to facebook?
To link to your own facebook page using the AddThis share plugin, you will need to have your own facebook account set up and your own app ID number. Simply replace the ID number in the head of the wrapper.php file with your own ID number and replace the fallback image URL with your own (see FAQs):
Make sure your logo is at least 200px x 200px or facebook will not recognise it.

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues seeing the demo site. I’ve not come across this issue before. What country are you visiting from? I do have some security measures in place and maybe your IP is within a range that I have manually blocked due to high levels of spam. Do you know what your IP address is? Perhaps I can include it.
Just tried to open a new member profile on Talent Media. But a spam script stoped my intention. Answered the questions and computed the 3+5 – challenge. After clicking on the button…. empty form. No advice – no further text…

I´m running Simply Responsive (version early 2016) in front. After updating to CP 3..5.8 – will Simply Responsive 1.3.5.8 work with my version of CP AND(!) future versions 4.xx of CP without having to pay updates?

Are the four search fields on your demo fixed or can i change them with my own fields? Do these fields work with German cities and German states?

I have lifetime club membership, so you’re asking the wrong person. You should ask appthemes about the particulars of your own account.
1. Yes running CP 3.5.8 with SR 1.3.5.8 is recommended as both have been altered to run with the latest version of WP 4.7.3. Please note WP updates on a regular basis. Themes have to keep up, some require adjustment from time to time. You don’t HAVE to update, but it is recommended.
2. The search fields relating to location is a separate plugin (not part of the child theme) and yes they work with German cities and states. You just need to set up an API key and run the latest Development Build of CP which has some extra code put in for geolocation with Google.

I want to use Classipress and your child theme for a Machinery Listing site. Some of my dealers have 100+ machines.
1. Does it have Dealer pages where you could view all there machines?
2. Does the Dealer have to enter all address information each time he adds a machine listing?
1. Yes, all Authors – ( in your case Dealers) have their own author page that lists all the ads they have submitted.
2. Yes, they would have to fill in the address for each Ad they submit. This is the way Classipress works by assigning the address to the Ads ID. If they use a browser like Chrome they can easily use the “autofill” feature to quickly fill in addresses.

before i purchase this, can you answer this question. i would like this to be an option “only paid members can contact the advertiser”. can this be done with this plugin.
I don’t know of a plugin that does this. You would have to customise this to make it a feature. As it stands at the moment, this is not a feature of this child theme.

I already have my classipress setup the way i want it, but i like a lot of your options, can i still keep the look of my classipress if i purchase and upload your theme.
No idea, as I have no clue what you have done to the main theme and how you have made those changes. If you have made changes to the main theme it might be possible to keep them, but I can’t honestly say for sure. It would depend on how you have done this. For your information, this child theme completely overrides the main theme css styles file. So unless you have used the customiser custom css to override css styles, it’s likely that using this child theme will cancel any css styles you have made. Hope this answers your question satisfactory.
But at the end of the day, if you made changes to the main theme css styles, there’s no stopping you from making those same changes to the child theme too.
